いろ - color (kleur)


あか - red (rood)

オレンジ (read as orenji) - orange (oranje)

きいろ - yellow (geel)

みどり - green (groen)

あお - blue (blauw)

むらさき - purple/violet (paars)

ピンク (read as pinku) - pink (roze) - written as ももいろ on pg.30, but this is the traditional way of saying pink, and it's not as common as ピンク, nowadays.

ちゃいろ - brown (bruin)

しろ - white (wit)

はいいろ - gray (grijs) - グレー (read as guree)  is another way of saying 'gray'

くろ - black (zwart)


To say a color in it's 'light' form, such as 'light blue', add うす- before the color in question. Examples:

うすあお、うすみどり、うすむらさき.


きんいろ - gold color

ぎにろ - silver color
